It seems to me that drug testing as a rule has gotten out of control. Millions of dollars are being spent on proving employees are clean or dirty as far as drugs go. The very idea of mandatory employee drug testing seems to violate the whole idea of freedom in the United States. People who have committed serious crimes have been given more rights than the average American who goes to work and pays the bills. The main idea is your right to be innocent until proven guilty. This seems to be backwards in this case : All people who work in jobs that have adopted this policy have become suspects and if they have not complied with this testing rule they automatically become guilty.

We have all become slaves to the rules. It works out to being a damned if you do damned if you don’t kind of thing. An individual is damned if they do by giving the whole notion creedence and validation. The industries we all work in have had the right to test for” cause” for as long as I’ve been working . What has changed? The very idea that my piss has become grounds for my dismissal is insane. We as a people are being held hostage for our urine.

I personally have never wanted to work at my constuction job with a person who was stoned or acting in a manner that was not conducive to project completion. I truly don’t see a reason or excuse for being “high” on the job, or on the road . A person in the US has the right to determine his/her direction in life , but not at the expense of others safety.

I don’t see the point of trying to catch the guy who goes home and fires up or pops a top. That guy is harming nobody, but he will be tested for residuals to see if he is following the rules. He/she will face the humiliation of being labeled a drug abuser for a positive (even a false positive, or “no show” positive) test. This is dicrimination and [we] accept it as a way of protecting the American way of life. Homeland security has made the push for all Americans to step into line and follow their out of control rules. “They ” see citizens as cattle to be controlled at all levels of production.

Anyone who has made the not so voluntary donation of urine knows of how the system works. First you need to give a piss handler your info, which includes all of the items that can give them access to all of your accounts, credit . I can’t see the point in a person who handles piss having my social security number, but it is required for the test. What is the reason for a piss handler to have access to my credit score ,bank accounts , and all other related items? Is this going to be a reason for the government to deny social security at retirement? You tested positive for drugs ,your SS will be denied because you broke some ancient, and sometimes short-sighted law. You as the accused have to prove yourself to be worthy of this test.

The first test I ever did was of little or no concern to me.” I’m innocent of the charges being levied, and therefore will be vendicated” was my frame of mind. The first feeling of being mistreated was the “pat down”. I really felt as though I was going to be put into jail. I was asked to remove all clothing that could conceal a masking agent or some hidden saved clean urine sample. I was watched til the point that the door closed beind me to the bathroom. I wondered at that point if there could be a camera in the stall. It was a humiliating kind of experience, and had the tendency to make me never want to go through it again. But then there is the annual test to prove your continued compliance, and then there is a random to make sure you are “clean” by surprise. What a cruel joke.

This idea of guilty until proven innocent is a blatant disreguard of our “WE THE PEOPLE” rights and needs to be stopped. I’m not saying any actions should be taken by any reader of this rant, but notice should be taken of the info and the civil abuse that “testing” requires.

Indiana’s leaders and their infinite wisdom have created a new time warp . The governor made a promise to fix the dual time zone in Indiana in his race for election . He got it fixed and ruined all at one time. He took a time zone that never changed ( no daylight savings time spring forward , fall back crap) , and put it on DLST , and left it on Eastern Standard Time. He then allowed the counties that wanted to , to go on Central Time. Now here is the real stroke of genius….. A new time zone called Commerce Time was added . The new time zone was created for schools and some public offices to allow these entities to actually be in the Central time zone , but operate as if they were on Eastern time. Needless to say now the students of some school systems live in counties on Central time and the school is on Eastern time.

I’ve been told that people and businesses that dont comply with new time zone changes , could be facing stiff fines and penalties ,and that the changes were LAW. It seems to me that the schools that went to Commerce time would be breaking the new law (by not being on the same time with the county around them). Have you ever seen students at school at 4:00 am??? It happened here ,not with my children , but with a few misinformed and misguided students it happened. The working parents of the State of Indiana have now had to change their schedules to make sure that their kids are being taken care of during the time lag between actual time and school time .

Has anyone ever wondered what drugs the people who run the state are on??? I have. I’ve been trying to see if I could get my hands on some. Since elected state officials could make this big of a mess out of what time it is , why not hand their time warp drug out to all of us . So that maybe if WE (the people ) took enough of it, we could go back in time and change our vote .

The next election for state Reps and senators will most likely be like a clearinghouse , with very few of the incumbents being re-elected. Why would they need to mess with something as simple as the time? They got it wrong . The dual time zone in Indiana has existed for some 60 odd years, and it wasnt broke. To me this whole thing is like changing the same tire on your car every day for the rest of your life(even though yesterday’s was brand new)

As a do-it-yourselfer I have found the grand problem with the big chain hardware stores. The stores in question are “The Save Big Money Stores” …. The Menards , Home Depots , and Lowe’s stores of this country have got a great bait and switch deal going. They bait you with a good price on quality items and then after you have used them for a while , they switch brands to a seldom better one.

I would be ok with it once in a while but, they do it on such a regular basis that you never know what you are getting when you walk in. My most recent problem was with white paint. When I buy something like that im looking down the road to future projects so I get the 5 gallon buckets…… in all I have purchased 4 of these buckets. I know what most of you are thinking ……white paint is white paint is white paint. Not true . White paint is brightened with blue, red, or yellow to bring out a real shine. Even if you match red hue with red hue in different brands , the two WILL NOT match when you paint a wall.

For the length of four years I have been buying the same brand to match perfectly what I have painted before. The last time I went to my local “discount” chain hardware store I was in the middle of repainting my hall when i ran out of paint. I went to the paint department and to my surprise they had changed brands. I asked if they still had the old brand (knowing they didnt) and the 19 year old expert told me that the new brand would match. When i finished laughing , I told him that I would try it and bought the paint. I went home and just to prove it to myself , painted right next to the old brand. Needless to say I ended up re-painting the entire hall ….1-1/2 gallons gone. The new brand sucked so bad that on my next project it wouldnt cover until the third coat (new drywall with 2 coats of primer)……3 more gallons gone. Both jobs should have taken about 3 gallons total. After the second coat on the new job it looked like a zebra had somehow attached itself to my walls. The paint when overlapped with a roller ,wouldnt blend together.

Now as I have it figured , I’m out 2 gallons of paint(1-1/2 on the walls and the 1/2 gallon of garbage thats left in the can). At bulk price it is about $11 per gallon so I lost $22, not to mention about 5 hours of my life .

My guess is that “the bean counters” saw white paint as white paint , never mind that the place is supposed to be a “professional” building store. Would you think that one of their true professional builder/contractor specialists would have seen that there was a difference between brands when the new order was made out?? Nope. The idea is all about bottom line profit margines. The store saved 4cents per gallon on a different brand , and for that it cost me $22. Anymore going to these places is like going to a swap meet in a bayou with a paddle up and park your boat front entrance. So, I guess I will stick to good ‘ole Ace (you’re killin’ me prices) Hardware.

The United Nations in its infancy was a great concept. It made discussion on an equal level between rival countries possible. The UN was supposed to create a forum for any member nation to settle quarrels in a passive and democratic way with all member nations getting a vote to a peaceful resolution. So far in 60+ years it has just been a quagmire of political hoo-rah, and a hiding place for the REAL criminals of the world.

Of the 160+ member nations , only 50 or so are democracies (their leaders are voted in to an office). Does that equal 3 to 1 odds against the democratic way?? As an American it is hard to compare the USA, England & Austrailia to Iraq ,Iran all the “stan” countries China and all the others( with such horrible human rights issues).

The political structure of the USA only really commits to 2 parties , Republican ,or Democrat with most of the country being middle of the road. Most lean one way or the other on a single issue (abortion, religion, gay marriage, etc). ALL of the US should be leaning tword getting us out of the UN. The United States carries MOST of the financial burden for the UN. We pay for all of the buildings , we pay most of the incredible salaries, and we take the most crap. When a UN peacekeeping mission is designated, it is the US that is looked to first for that task by way of forces , food and support. The last figure I saw was at least $20Billion of our tax dollars went to UN functions, with some countries making little or no contributions , but still drawing a salary ($150,000+).

Any country can join the UN, and most favor terrorism, genocide, and extremely poor human rights. These countries are supposed to be allied to produce peace in the world. Why are there still several wars going on in the world?? It is because the UN has done nothing to stop them. It would not fit the agenda of 2/3 of the member nations to stop a war that those dictatorships are involved in(FRANCE). The result is that the US has become the “whippin’ boy ” for the world. Terrorists, dictators, anarchists, and pure scumbags have made some 50 countries their bitch. Only a few countries even try to follow UN resolutions. The whole idea of trying to tax the internet is a resolution in the works.

If our president could reach down and pull his head out of Iraq , He would be able to see the cruel irony of the US being a member of the biggest den of liars ,thieves , and murderers in the world. When representatives of some of the worst places in the world are allowed to travel unresticted to The United States of America ,we as citizens lose. These people are given diplomatic immunity, homes, cars and expense accounts. These rights given to them are not extended to taxpayers. The main topic for the UN is how to control the “free” people of the lesser 50 member nations.

All of this being said……… Who is the moron in this case??? The US for staying in??? US citizens for not forcing this issue??? Or was it the founders of the UN for not making the rules of entry a little more strict???

If the Big Dog (USA) left the UN it is almost a surity that other democratic/republic countries would follow.

Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels has gained a special place in my heart , as one of the biggest morons since the dawn of time. The guy has a track record of fleecing the poor , retired , and the elderly(just ask anyone with IPALCO stock). The name Enron comes to mind as soon as the Governor’s name is mentioned.

The Governor has proposed a Seventy-Five year lease of one of Indiana’s largest assets , The I-80/I-90 toll road. The road nets $90Million per year and supports thousands of families. The rhetoric that I recieved from my State Senator bordered on a lie, with a hint tword the state running the road at a loss. That is simply not true. NET means after everything is paid for ……Police , attendants , repairs and all other things related to the road are paid for before the number of $90M. The State will recieve $3.85 Billion for this lease , and in the long run lose $2.9Billion. The claim that it will free up $109M per year isnt true. Those monies come directly from the Toll Road . How do you keep getting the money from a road that you leased out to a Austrailian/Spanish consortium????

Mitch Daniels ran for Governor in the state of Indiana telling us that he was going to IN-source as much as possible ,and thusly create jobs in the state. Now he is OUT-sourcing one of Indiana’s greatest assets . His claim that we buy too much out of state pales in comparison to buying out of country/continent.

The State of Indiana cannot afford our Governors quirky ideas , so I am joining the chorus of DITCH MITCH.

Figuring out what it takes to be a true moron can be a difficult and painstaking process.The person can’t just be an idiot,or a “boob”,they have to own it , and find the true meaning of it. The true moron will be an idiot who has proven themselves time, and time again. The moron can be as simple as the guy who flipped you the bird for his mistake , or as mighty as any of the last six presidents.

Finding a way to separate the morons , the idiots , and the everyday people might be difficult and maybe impossible sometimes , but I will try to get it straight. Some will be easy to spot and some will be able to fool us all . The real slack jawed booger eatin’ morons are the people we trusted for advice and then (when we were not looking) stole our pensions ( a month before retirement).

I guess i’ll try to find these people and nail ‘em as best as i can.
